Dan Brown founded the company in 1962. Over the past 60 years, Brown Distributing has grown from 3 trucks and 4 employees to 380 trucks and 400 employees, selling over ten million cases per year.
Brown Distributing’s quality products and outstanding customer service have helped us become a leader in the Austin market “No matter how big you get in this business, the personal touch and relationships are very important,” says Laurie Brown, Vice President. “We treat the customer who buys two cases a week the same as we treat the one who buys 200.”
Since 1999, Brown Distributing has called a 325,000 square-foot warehouse on Johnny Morris Road in Austin home. In addition to expansive corporate offices, the building features 125,000 square-feet of climate-controlled warehouse space and room for a fleet of more than 380 vehicles. The company also has a satellite location in La Grange, Texas..
“There’s a certain pride in working in a family business and we work hard to instill that pride in both the company and the employees,” says Brown. “We want everyone to feel a loyalty and strive to be the best in the industry. We stress working hard but having fun at the same time and even though we’ve grown so much, there is still a fun family atmosphere at Brown Distributing.”
Being a distributor of alcoholic beverages, we do our part in making sure our products are consumed responsibly by adults over the age of 21. Throughout the year, we execute several programs focused on underage drinking prevention, as well as the importance of drinking responsibly and designating a driver.
In addition to these responsible drinking programs, Brown Distributing also strives to better Central Texas’ sustainability through internal recycling and energy conservation efforts.
